Seira is the future Mermaid Princess of the Indian Ocean and future keeper of the orange pearl. She appears as a spirit to Lucia, taking the form of a young mermaid. When her time of birth finally came, Michel seized his chance and absorbed Seira into his body, and her birth was therefore delayed until Lucia could retrieve all the pieces of her heart contained in Michel's feathers. Every time Lucia retrieves a piece of her heart from one of Michel's fallen feathers, Seira learns something about an emotion, such as love or friendship. Once born, she is destined to become Orange Pearl Voice. Seira is very child-like and sees the good in Michel, realizing that he has good intentions for the earth.Since Sara wanted to live with Gaito, Sara gave her orange pearl to Luchia.Luchia had gotten Seira in her dreams since the day Seira was still not born.Seira also taught Luchia to be brave and stand up(Not to stand up to walk!!) and be braver and also taught Luchia to be stronger and not to give up.When Seira was born, Luchia gave her(Seira) the orange pearl, and Sara was no longer(maybe!Cause idk if it really happened) the orange mermaid princess, but Seira was.

Sara is the Mermaid Princess of the Indian Ocean and keeper of the orange pearl. She joins Gaito in his quest to take over the marine world after an incident bestowed her a dark power, turning both her orange hair and her orange pearl pitch black (though her eyes stay orange) and destroying her own kingdom. That incident was a proposed rendezvous with Tarō, her secret human lover, in which he never showed up. (In the manga, he actually arrived before, but Sara's guardian found out about the relationship and insisted that he leave, convincing Sara that he had abandoned her.) In a fury, Sara unleashed a wave of power, destroying her kingdom and causing the wave which killed Kaito's parents and from which Lucia saved Kaito. In the manga, her villain name is Black Pearl Voice and she transforms into an idol in a black dress reminiscent of a diva. However, in the anime, she does not transform until she turns good, and instead has the power to sing offensively in a humanoid, amphibious form like the villains and mermaid idols, with or without her E-pitch. In the end, she decides to join the other mermaids as is her duty. She, herself, seals the gate to Gakuto's castle in the book because it's her duty and she unsealed the gate after her kingdom was destroyed. In the TV show, Aqua Regina seals the gate and Sara goes with Gaito because she loves him. The manga shows that she goes with him because she realizes that he is the one that needs her the most and that what he did was partly out of love for her and the want to make her happy. She also appears in the second season as a spirit, informing Lucia of the future Orange Pearl Voice and offering her assistance where she can. Sara is also seen singing with the other mermaid princesses in the very last episode of Mermaid Melody Pichi Pichi Pitch Pure
aqua regina info
Aqua Regina is the ocean goddess who gives the Mermaid Princesses new songs and upgrades for their gear. However, this is all that she can do alone after expending a great deal of energy thousands of years ago. She is needed to ultimately stop the sea monsters, and the seven pearls have to be gathered to summon her; Gaito/Gakuto seeks to summon her as well, so that he can use her to destroy the world. Aqua Regina later gives bands to the mermaids to upgrade their singing power; as in many magical girl series, this is signified by adding frills and accessories to their dresses. She also upgrades their microphones in the end of season one, before she is finally summoned. At the end of the manga, Aqua Regina reveals that Lucia is to be her successor.

Karen is the Mermaid Princess of the Antarctic Ocean, keeper of the purple pearl, and twin sister of Noel. In the anime, she first appears as the winner of a beauty contest that the main trio enters; in the manga, she first appears to save them from the Dark Lovers. In the first season, Tarō asks her about his mermaid, and she later blames Rina for Noel's kidnapping. Even after things are straightened out, she chooses to go find Noel alone. She is Noel's polar opposite, having a mysterious personality. Caren and Noel are twins, born on opposite sides of the Earth. When Caren finally meets Noel, she launches herself at Noel, hugging her and calling her Onee-sama, a respectful term for big sister. Even though the two had not met before, karen cares most for Noel and would do anything to save her, even if it meant karen having to find her on her own. While she is cold and distant in the first season, she is found to be wild, humorous, and even a bit strange in the second. Her idol form is Purple Pearl Voice.

Noelle is the Mermaid Princess of the Arctic Ocean and keeper of the deep blue (i.e. 藍色, ai-iro) pearl. She helped Rina escape from the sea monsters, which led to her capture. She is calm, gentle, caring, and studious (as she sometimes wears glasses on land later in the second season of the anime). She is Caren's older twin sister by about a minute at the most. Noel cares deeply for Caren, the one that she had always wanted to meet. Her idol form is Ai-iro (Deep Blue) Pearl Voice.In the third volume of the English manga, ai-iro was translated as indigo, but deep blue makes more sense regarding the character's colour scheme; the colours may be based on the rainbow, but Lucia is pink, not red. It is yet to be seen whether this will be corrected.Some refer to Noel's name as Noelle, because originally Noel is a male name, while Noelle is the female form, but the official English translation as well as the official Japanese romanization uses Noelle.

Rina is the Mermaid Princess of the North Atlantic Ocean and keeper of the green pearl. Initially she is depicted as beautiful but stern and bent on revenge for the capture of her best friend, Noel. Later, however, she evolves into a more mature character, and acts as an older sister figure to Lucia and Hanon. She seems to love plasma TVs and shows this love in many anime episodes. Her idol form is Green Pearl Voice.Some fans in the West still spell her name as Lina, because the Japanese language does not distinguish the sounds "r" and "l", treating them as the same. This means that "ri" and "li" are both represented as リ, and it can be difficult to figure out what the intended romanization is until it is established by official source

Hanon the Aqua Pearl Voice(Aqua also know as Regina)\Hanon pictures: Hanon is the Mermaid Princess of the South Atlantic Ocean and keeper of the aqua (水色 mizu-iro "water-color") pearl. Unlike Lucia, Hanon goes up to land to escape water creatures. She is perky and feminine, yet a bit more worldly than her friend Lucia. This worldliness is evidenced by many of her actions—especially by her romantic pursuit of her music teacher, Tarō Mitsuki. Her idol form is Mizuiro (Aqua) Pearl Voice, although the first time that it is named in the manga, she is erroneously called Blue Pearl Voice.She worries about her friends, ust like Luchia does, but always turned red or pink whenever she sees boys.She even thinks everything is love.

Interrupting the brewing romance, a giant wave crashed onto the ship, and the boy fell into the icy ocean! Lucia quickly went after him. He was on the verge of death when she finally got him onshore. To save him, Lucia used the powers of her Mermaid's Tears (which looks like a pink pearl). The boy kept the pearl ever since.
Therefore it's up to Lucia to retrieve her pearl back. With her adorable guardian penguin, Hippo, she disguises herself as a human girl named Nanami Lucia in order to search for the boy. While onland, she meets a surfer-dude named Kaito, who looks awful lot like the boy who has her pearl...nah, couldn't be. The boy isn't a ruthless womanizer like Kaito!
Meanwhile, a clan of evil sea monsters are on the lookout for the 7 Mermaid's Tears as well. During a surfing competition, a monster detects that Kaito has one of them, and pulls him underwater to get it. Of course Lucia can't let Kaito die, she quickly jumps into the water to battle the monster (which turns her back into her mermaid self). When a semi-conscious Kaito sees his beloved mermaid in trouble fighting, he throws the pearl to Lucia, which transforms her into a singing Magical Girl named "Pink Pearl Voice"! She is then able to defeat the monster by singing her childhood song, using her magical microphone.
Lucia is finally reunited with her first love, Kaito...the thing is, he doesn't know her name, nor he knows that she is his classmate, Nanami Lucia. He only has the mermaid in his mind. Moreover, she cannot confess her love to Kaito (in both human or mermaid form), because she will turn into bubbles immediately. But if he realizes her love on his own, all will be fine.
How will Lucia tell him indirectly that she really is the mermaid he thinks about day and night? And as one of the three blessed mermaid princesses, how will she defeat the sea monster clan, who has begun to destroy the mermaid kingdom in order to capture all seven mermaid princess? This would be the main plot of this uber-cute mahou shoujo anime ^^
It seems like that many people complain about the voice acting when it comes to the anime. When I first heard Luchia speak I was surprised she has such a LOW voice...I was expecting a somewhat high voice range with a touch of hyperness to it. But after observing Luchia's personality, I guess this voice is quite fitting ^^; Thank goodness Hanon's voice is not like Luchia's, or else that would be just odd! xD
Other than that, the entire cast does a great job in depicting the characters! =D I would just also like to add that I love Kaitou's voice. A total bishounen! xD

NAKATA ASUMI AS LUCIA She is not a professional seiyuu, but an "idol" (same as a model in North America). At only 14, she has posed for various fashion magazines, as well as appears frequently on a TV show called "Super na Shoujo 58" with other young idols. She also released 2 photobooks, one when she was twelve called "Asumi" and one recently called "Fairy Blue". You can access the photos via this link, but note that Fairy Blue contains some mild suggestive poses. No revealing stuff though =)
TERAKADO HITOMI AS HANON Besides the lovable Hanon, the other voice roles Terakado Hitomi has done include Angelica from Gunslinger Girl and Karinka from Steel Angel Kurumi Live Action. She is a idol like Asumi Nakata, with her own photobook (much prettier IMO ^^;) and starred in a drama series called "Suika".

ARAI SATOMI AS COCO I have a feeling she is going to get popular in the future...not only she is pretty, but aside from Coco, she voiced Aoba Kozue, the main character of Mahoraba ~Heartful Days~...even singing an image song for it! You can download that at the Music Section ^^
UEDA KANA AS SARA She's so pretty...and multi-talented since she's a singer, a seiyuu, AND an idol ^^ Her voice roles include Hisui from Tsukihime, Yumi from Maria-sama ga Miteru, Shizuka from Daphne in the Brilliant Blue, and Yuri from Wandaba Style. She is the singer for the Final Fantasy Limited OP "Over the Fantasy", hosts radio shows, appears in various commercials, and even released her debut album Kanairo! No wonder she does such a great job portraying Sara and singing "Return to the Sea" ^^
NAGATA RYOKO AS NOELLE I think she is a pretty well known seiyuu who had been around for quite a while, judging from the many roles she had. Most are just minor, but I'm sure you guys know about an anime named Kiddy Grade...and she plays Eclair! She also does the voice for Chloe in the Japanese Smallville adaptation, and Rouge in the X-Men movie =)
HONDA CHIEKO AS YUURI Talk about a seiyuu veteran! She is definitely the oldest out of all the MMPPP seiyuu, and yet she's able to play such a young role like Yuri...gotta give her a salute there ^^ Her most famous roles got to be Meroko from Full Moon wo Sagashite and Tellu from Sailor Moon S! I really like how she played Meteo from Cosmic Baton Girl Comet-san who resembles Yuri's personality.
KOBAYASHI SANAE AS MARIA Despite of Maria's background character as a villian, Kobayashi Sanae is a well-known seiyuu. Of course she would be if she played Akira from Hikaru no Go! ^^ She was also Lilith from Yami to Boushi to Hon no Tabibito, Madlax from Madlax, Lucy from Elfed Lied, and Satsuki from Ichigo 100%
MATSUOKA YUKI AS ERIL I swear, all the good seiyuu play the villains ^^; Perhaps they have more interesting personality? xD Anyway, I'm sure you all know her previous voice roles...such as Osaka from Azumanga Daioh, Aiko from Ojamajo Doremi, and Orihime from Bleach!. SHITAKA NORIKO AS MIMI Omg~ I can't believe she is Himeko from Kannazuki no Miko <3! Folks, Mermaid Melody Pichi Pichi Pitch PURE would be the sequel to MMPPP! It began airing the week after the first MMPPP ended, on April 03, 2004, still in the 8AM Saturday timeslot. Unfortunately the sequel will only be 25 episodes long, equal to one season.
The plot picks up right after episode 52, with the mermaids and Kaito watching as Gaito meets his end. But they don't live happily ever after...although Lucia and Kaito becomes extremely clingy, Kaito decides to leave Japan for good to Hawaii, where he trains his surfing and tries to find himself again. But an accident happens on his way to Hawaii, causing him to have retrograde amnesia and he forgets everything in the past, including Lucia. Meanwhile he meets a girl who falls head over heels for him, and he develops feelings for her too. How will Lucia resolve this mess and make his memory return?
Things aren't looking so bright as far as the mermaid world goes either. Since Sara is gone, a new mermaid named Seira takes her place and constantly gets into Lucia's dreams, warning her about troubles that lie ahead. Also, a new angel-like villain named Mikeru reveals himself. He is probably the most powerful yet, because even the strongest mermaid song does not harm him...another uh-oh for the mermaid princesses! But one very good thing about PURE is that every mermaid princesses find new love interests, including Lina (hurray! It's time for her to find a guy!)

Lucia is one of the 7 mermaid princesses, who resides in the North Pacific Ocean. She holds the pink mermaid's tear, which unfortunately is lost...
When Lucia was little, she ventured out onto the sea surface one night, and encountered a fireworks celebration on a cruiseship! Joining in the festive spirit, she sang a song with a mermaid's beautiful voice. A little boy was attracted to her voice and comments on how pretty it sounds, and Lucia is delighted! He then asks her why is she in the ocean, so Lucia revealed her identity by showing him her tail. The boy was absolutely surprised that he has seen a real mermaid
